JourneyGen (“JourneyGen”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides a software platform that helps travel agencies build custom tour packages and generate client-ready itineraries (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the JourneyGen website, web application, and related services.

JourneyGen is a business-to-business service. Our customers are travel agencies and their staff. If you are a traveler whose information was entered into JourneyGen by a travel agency, that agency is responsible for the data it holds about you — please direct requests about your data to the agency first (see “Our Role as a Processor” below).

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash — we never store plain-text passwords).
  • Organization information:your agency’s name, branding, team members, and settings you configure in the Service.
  • Client and traveler data: information your agency enters about its clients, such as names, contact details, travel dates, group size, preferences, and budgets.
  • Package and catalog data: tour packages, itineraries, hotels, rooms, attractions, transport options, pricing, and any custom rates or overrides your agency configures.
  • Communications: messages you send us, such as support requests or demo bookings (including your email address).

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and log data: pages visited, features used, browser type, device information, IP address, and timestamps, used to operate and secure the Service.
  • Cookies: we use essential, httpOnly session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To authenticate users and keep accounts secure.
  • To generate tour packages, itineraries, and exported documents (Word/PDF) at your request.
  • To power the AI assistant features described below.
  • To respond to support requests and communicate about the Service.
  • To monitor usage, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. AI Features

JourneyGen includes an AI chat assistant that helps build tour packages. When you use AI features, the content of your messages and relevant package data (for example, trip details, hotels, and pricing from your catalog) are sent to third-party AI model providers, such as Anthropic, to generate responses. These providers process the data to provide the feature and are subject to their own API data-use commitments; under the API terms we rely on, your prompts are not used to train their models.

Avoid entering sensitive personal information (such as passport numbers or payment card details) into the AI chat unless it is necessary for building the package.

4. Our Role as a Processor

For client and traveler data that a travel agency enters into JourneyGen, the agency acts as the data controller and JourneyGen acts as a data processor. We process that data only to provide the Service to the agency and in accordance with this policy. Travelers who wish to access, correct, or delete their data should contact the travel agency that holds their booking; we will assist the agency in fulfilling such requests.

5. How We Share Information

We share information only with service providers that help us run JourneyGen:

  • Cloud hosting and database providers(such as Supabase) that store the Service’s data.
  • AI model providers (such as Anthropic) that process AI chat requests, as described above.
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of JourneyGen, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: if JourneyGen is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

6. Data Isolation and Security

JourneyGen is a multi-tenant platform: every agency’s business data is scoped to its own organization and is not visible to other agencies. We protect information using industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, httpOnly session cookies, and organization-level access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account or your agency’s organization is active, and as needed to provide the Service. When an organization is closed, we delete or anonymize its data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@journeygen.ai. If you are a traveler whose data was entered by an agency, please contact that agency first; we will support the agency in responding.

9. International Transfers

Our service providers may store and process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

10. Children

JourneyGen is a business tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 as an account holder. Traveler records entered by agencies may include minors traveling as part of a booking; the agency is responsible for having the right to enter that information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date above shows when this policy was most recently revised.
